Opening night of the 2021 NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws season saw Logan Schuchart picking up a 2nd place podium finish in the feature event. The night started off well for both shark team mates with Logan qualifying 6th and Jacob qualifying 8th lining them up on the outside of the front row for their perspective heat races.
Both sharks found their way to the lead early in their heat races, taking the checkered flag sending them to the night’s fast pass dash. Jacob pulled the pole position for the dash giving his Drydene, JVI Group 1A an ideal starting spot and holding on for a 2nd place finish. Logan would start 8th in his Drydene, C&D Rigging, JVI Group 1S and move to the 7th spot before the finish of the dash.
The 30-lap feature event saw Jacob jump to an early lead over Sam Hafertepe. Allen was able to hold onto the lead for laps 1-8 until losing a hard fought battle with Brad Sweet. Within 3 laps Schuchart had moved from 7th to 3rd quickly making a run for the lead. On lap 11 Schuchart was able to pass his shark team mate for the 2nd position. When the checkered flag waved Schuchart finished 2nd with Allen finishing 7th. “Good few nights so far this week! Start of our WoO season was a 2nd place finish. I feel we were good, just tightened the car up a little too much killing some much needed speed. Looking forward to going after another gator” said Shark’s Logan Schuchart after the finish of the race.
